On Kill Tony, co-host Brian Redban fired up the audience at the Texas Trust CU Theatre, yelling, "Dallas, Texas, who's ready for the best fucking night of their lives?" Redban praised the local stand-up scene, noting that the "bucket is filled with local Dallas comedians" and shouting out Randy Butler, the owner of Hyenas Comedy Clubs. On My Favorite Murder, co-host Georgia Hardstark threw back to a classic episode, "Live At The Majestic Theatre in Dallas," where she detailed how a local suspect became known as the "Black Widow in Dallas." He wasn't some shrinking violet, and he provoked the entire encounter." On a more bureaucratic note, Planet Money guest Ann Marie Graham-Hudak pointed to Dallas as a prime example of strict local environmental rules, noting that it is one of many places with "laws requiring people to compensate the community when they cut down a tree." Even Armchair Expert checked in on the outer edges of the metroplex, with a caller describing neighboring Plano as a "suburb of Dallas, but it feels like it has all the things. It's grown so much."
