SpaceX is pushing the limits of aerospace engineering with its massive Starship rocket, a vehicle whose sheer physical scale is beginning to reshape expectations for commercial space travel. On All-In, host Jason Calacanis recalled standing inside the first build of the vehicle, marveling that "you can fit three hundred people" inside an interior that feels like a "seven forty-seven" commercial airliner.
Tech investor Gavin Baker clarified that the real breakthrough isn't just size, but the engineering pivot to rapid reusability. Speaking on All-In, Baker emphasized that while standard reusability allows a rocket to fly again in "thirty days, sixty days," true "rapid reusability means that you can fly and land the same rocket multiple times per day". In his view, this capability is what will make moon and Mars bases viable, leaving rivals like Blue Origin or state competitors years behind.
The pressure is now on SpaceX to turn this rapid-fire launch vision into a daily reality. If the company can master the catch-and-relaunch cycle at this scale, the cost of putting payloads into orbit will drop so low that competitors won't just be behind—they will be entirely locked out of the market.
