Jury selection began in McKinney, Texas, for the murder trial of Karmelo Anthony regarding the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf. On The Breakfast Club, co-host Loren LoRosa outlined the case of the "nineteen-year-old boy who at age seventeen" stabbed Metcalf with a pocket knife during a high school track meet altercation.
Over on The Megyn Kelly Show, host Megyn Kelly dismissed the self-defense argument, pointing to testimony that Metcalf "pushed him so gently", Anthony didn't even get bumped into his neighbor. Legal analyst Phil Holloway agreed, questioning why Anthony chose to bring a "five-inch knife, uh, into a track meet where it had no business being" in the first place.
The defense's framing of the incident has drawn sharp criticism. Guest Viva Frei condemned online attempts to shift blame onto Metcalf, comparing that logic to telling a rape victim "there were two ways for her not to have go".
