On Stuff You Should Know, host Josh Clark revisited the horrific 1955 Le Mans disaster, detailing the moment a Mercedes driven by Pierre Levegh crashed and flew into the crowd. Clark explained that a sudden maneuver by racer Lance Macklin forced a chain reaction: "caused Lance Macklin to have to veer to the left severely, and when he did veer to the left, he veered right into the path of another driver named Pierre Levegh, uh, who was driving a Mercedes, and it, it went really badly from that moment on."
